Question Dealer wants my baby

I got a letter today from the dealer about a buy back. Letter says they are in need of acquiring pre-owned BMWs and I fit the criteria. I have one year left on a three year lease. I only have 28,300 miles. Is this just a bait thing or is it for real? CJ got one of these, didn't he? I put a call into my salesguy, I'll see what he has to say.

Damn I wish the E70 did it for me.

L, I suspect it's a little of both: your leased X is low miles,
so it's probably appealing to the dlr who can release/sell it...

And, if you go for the deal, he has you to buy a new BMW from
his joint. WinWin for him.

You'd look good in any car, imo.

Off floor stock I guess, no orders? I'm going to entertain it and go in on Monday. Could be trouble. Tuesday I'm final. A brand new BMW would be a nice present to me

Guess it depends on what type of deal they are offering.

But, since you have had it since new, you know of any issues, plus you know what type of care it has been getting and the low miles. And, if the E70 is not to your liking, what are you going to do? Get another E53 that you don't ever really know what you are getting into. But in the end it is all your call.

If you considering the 6-series, keep in mind that its getting a facelift in less than 6 months, but you are leasing anyway. Or get the new X5 4.8i. The new facelift 5-series will also be in showroom by late March/early April.

The only way I'd get another E53 is if they have a 4.8 brand new still sitting. I doubt that I'd drive the E70 and pull the trigger on that. Downside of going is the 650 screaming take me home, not practical with the rear wheel drive. As is the case with any of the models with the big engines, the body of the 550 doesn't do it for me. I like the 750 but rear wheel again.

I get the same letter once in a while on my Beemers too. So it's just a marketing ploy to get you in there

Laura, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't accept an order for the replacement vehicle.
