A diesel at LeMans?

This may be old news but how did the Audi Diesel do? I never got the news.

Audi is the first automobile manufacturer to fight for overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a diesel-powered sportscar – and breaks completely new ground as a result.

Links are for ACO regulations and IMSA rules. There are rumors that Audi may pull out after Sebring because of new IMSA rules that have just been implemented giving an advantage to P2 that would actually have P2 cars running for overall win and competing with Audi. This is rather unheard of as P1 cars are generally the fastest of the bunch.

And also for those who didn't know, PTG (performance technology group) based out of Winchester VA who has had a long history racing BMWs will now be running Panoz.

PTG was the only factory backed team in the U.S. and as we all know, BMW pulled the plug on U.S. racing, so PTG is now with Panoz.
