Video Hang (mac) tech question..

Hey all,

I have a bug and am hoping someone can help me address it. Often when I go to download videos that people have posted, the video will play for 10-15sec. (after buffering) and then it will FREEZE.. And I can't get the rest of the video to play (like Kev's FF video today!!)
If I try to reload it, it will play again and FREEZE in the exact same spot.
This happens at least 25% of the time I try to watch a video.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Thx,
B

I have the occasional problem as well (I'm also on a Mac.) The video from PNG's Freaky Friday was an example. I am not sure what causes this. It does not happen very often, so I simply shrug my shoulders. I do find, however, that sometimes FireFox handles streaming video better than Safari. What browser are you using, B-line?

If you're trying to watch it as it streams to your machine, it's probalby a buffering problem (i.e. virtual memory). Try downloading the video to your machine first and then watching it. If you haven't rebooted in awhile, it could be time to reboot and let your machine recreate it's paging file which might be having issues. (My comments are PC related btw, I'm not a mac guy)

Juan/Gersch

I am running Safari, maybe I should try IE, Firefox or take Gersch's idea and just reboot.
- I will also try to reconfig my virtual memory..

Thanks guys I would hate to miss another FF video

Try changing the preferences in the Windows media Player application.
I changed it to 56K in the connection window. and also changer buffering
to 30 seconds. I still cant get the Wanda Sikes thing to play on the Mac side though. It will play on the Windows side of the Mac (Virtual PC6).

Also try this applicationIt worked for the Wanda sykes thing.
