Quick Photo Trip; to nearly 2000 years ago..
Arriving at settlement entrance; overcast day, light drizzle..  Roman Road by which town grew; this was once a perfect stretch of road that spanned across much of what is now Portugal. Little under 2000 years old.  Remains of town entrance by main road; beautiful Mosaics  Some wonderfully crafted and well-kept mosaics..    Romans were very much into baths; who said Jacuzzies were a thing of the present?? this one had a hot-water mechanism  Here's what the water-heating subsystem looked like..  A center courtyard at a nobleman's house; 2000 year-old water fountains; quite intricate, actually  Way back home...

Wow! Those places are incredible. I love seeing sites like that. Archeology and history that dates that far back is just so fascinating. One of the most amazing experiences I've had was hiking the Great Wall of China. Looks like I'll have to visit Portugal too.
