YEAH, and prices are creeping into the $3.00 range yet again. I have a theory that all the fat execs sat there and said "if these yahoos are willing to pay more per liter for bottled water, there is definately more room in there for our prices to go up with out causing havoc throughout the economy!"

Last time prices were at $3+ per gallon I remember overhearing some people complaining loudly about it but happily plunked down $4 for a cup of coffee. Hell, they even waited in line for the privilege!
Next time you're at the grocery or drug store check out the gallon price for Visine. :eek:

I'm not sure cost comparisons are a fair comparison. Converting things to 'cost per gallon' for a comparison to gasoline doesn't make a valid point, unless you use all those substances at a similar rate to gasoline.
Instead of concentrating on the cost per gallon, focus on the monthly or yearly cost of the product. 1. Windex ($10 per gallon) = $83 cents/month - $10/Year 2. Water (BRITTA FILTERS) = $20/year 3. Milk ($3/gallon) = $3/week $12/month $144/year 4. Ice Cream – ($6/gallon) = $6/week - $24/month - $288/year 5. Gasoline - ONE CAR ($2.50/gallon) = $30/week - $120/month - $1440/year It seems to me that gas is more expensive than water...
