My crazy brother (?)
I talked to my brother tonight and as usual, we talked about cars. He has a current M-B S430 and he just put Brembo cross drilled rotors on it because they cost him just a little more than OEM's and new Yokos on his Carlsson wheels. Anyhoo, he told me he decided to sell his 993 C2S. What??? He had been going back and forth between keeping it and selling it. It's a gorgeous color called Vesuvio Gray which is a sort of eggplant/charcoal/black mix. The mirrors are a semi-matte gray as is the rear spoiler, from the factory. It's a really special looking car. He just can't justify keeping it because he never drives it and with a second kid on the way, needs to trim things down. Sad but understandable. He'd also be getting rid of a couple of year old VW Jetta wagon he has used as a utility vehicle.
So what is he thinking of buying to replace it? A Honda Ridgeline. I can understand the practicality of that decision but that thing is ugly. He's keeping the S-Class though. I guess the Ridgeline works for him since it has four doors, a bed for his big ass dog, bikes, strollers, stuff for the boat, etc. But did I mention that it's ugly?So if anyone in Western Canada wants to buy a super clean 993 C2S, let me know. It's going on the block very soon.

Yes, it's ugly, but it IS a Honda = good quality, good gas mileage, and every-day utility. (I'm not sure I'd get rid of the 993, though.)

Bummer on the 993 but I can understand the priorities thing.
I owned a Chevy Avalanche (which has its own ugly thing going for some people), but to me it was a much better vehicle vis. the Ridgeline except probably in fuel mileage (though I averaged about 14.5 mpg for the almost 3 years I had it). Never had a problem with it either - I sold it because I wasn't using it - the Touring was doing 99% of the work.
