That $2 billion per week is in addition to the $500+ billion Defense Budget. Bush refuses to include the money for Iraq and Afghanistan in the Defense Budget, and instead wants congress to approve these "supplemental" spending packages for the wars every 6 months or so. That way at the end of the year, the Defense Budget registers at $500+ billion instead of around $700 billion.

Maybe I missed it...

But what happened to the trillion (+/-) dollars that the Pentagon couldn't account for. After 9/11, I never heard anything about it.

It was 2.3 trillion. To be exact, Rumsfeld announced this on Monday September 10th, 2001.
