Imus deal....(don't read if you're all PC you'll just get mad)

I'm definitely down with pulling Imus based on his use of some very explicit racist words....however...why is the media posting thing like "black women say Imus can't use the word Ho".....

Here is a beautiful example of the hypocrisy. Where was the outcry when this song hit the street? Where do we draw the line as a society on decency?

-----------------------------------------------------------------

LUDACRIS LYRICS

"Ho"

[Chorus]
Hooooooooo (Ho)
Youza Hoooooo (Ho)
Youza Hoooooo (Ho)
I said that youza hooooo (Ho)
[Repeat 1x]

[Ludacris]
You doin ho activities
With ho tendencies
Hos are your friends, hoes are your enemies
With ho energy to do whacha do
Blew whacha blew
Screw whacha screw
Yall professional like DJ Clue, pullin on my coat tail
an why do you think you take a ho to a hotel?
Hotel everybody, even the mayor
Reach up in tha sky for tha hozone laya
Come on playa once a ho always
And hos never close they open like hallways
An heres a ho cake for you whole ho crew
an everybody wants some cuz hoes gotta eat too

[chorus x2]

[Ludacris]
Cant turn a ho into a housewife
Hos dont act right
Theres hos on a mission, an hoes on a crackpipe
Hey ho how ya doin, where ya been?
Prolly doin ho stuff cuz there you ho again
Its a ho wide world, that we livin in
feline, feminine, fantastical, women
Not all, just some
You ho who you are
Theres hoes in tha room, theres hoes in tha car
theres hoes on stage, theres hoes by tha bar
hos by near, an hos by far
Ho! (But can i getta ride?!)
NO! (Cmon, ni--- why?!)
Cuz youza

[chorus 2x]

[Ludacris]
You gotta run in your pantyhos
Even your daddy knows
that you suckin down chocolate like daddy-o's
You hos are horrible, horrendous
On taxes ya'll writin off hos as dependents
I see tha ho risin
it aint surprisin
its just a hoasis
with ugly chicks faces
but hos dont feel so sad and blue
cuz most of us nig--- is hos too

[chorus x2]

(Ho)
Mutha------ im so tiired of yall nig--- always talkin
bout hos this, hos that, you tha mutha------ ho ni---
I wasnt no ho last night

(Pimp)
Ho, bring yo ass!

(Ho)
Ok, hold on

Not even going to comment on that one - funny I brought up that very song to my girlfriend last week when the whole controversy started.

While Imus' comments were insensitive, I'm trying to figure out how "nappy" is racist, considering there are 3 hair salons here in LA with the word "nappy" in their names and my buddy, who is not black, goes to Oh My Nappy Hair Salon because his hair is, well, "nappy". Do you guys think that had he said "nasty" instead of "nappy" he wouldn't be in as much hot water as he is now?

Here are the salon listings...

The media quoting for black women? Please.....

So your saying that the girls on the basketball team are hypocrites? That's who Imus was talking about correct? Or are you referring to LUDACRIS? Or is it black women? Either way how can you blame anyone for someone elses mistakes or bad behaviour?

As far as Imus is concerned, I don't believe any one with any amount of decency approves of that garbage. I know for sure i don't. So to use the age old excuse that others like LUDACRIS are doing is a weak argument. Imus is and old man and someone his age ought to know by now what the boundaries of human decency should be.

He should be setting an example for young people instead of making an idiot of himself on the air. If there's someone who's a Hippocratic let's point the finger right where it belongs.

Here's a man who is supposed to be involved with helping young people in some way. And this is how he talks about people he doesn't know?

If he wanted to attack someone he should have take on LUDACRIS. Personally i would have love to have seen that battle.

If you don't understand then perhaps explaining it may not do any good. But let me try. The word Nappy in the dictionary refers to ... (nappy 2 adjective informal (of a black person's hair) frizzy.) Which in and of itself is a proper description of what the condition of black hair can sometime be. Now when you decide to use that word coupled with ho now were talking about something entirely different. It becomes the type of insult that goes a long way back that has a great deal of history attached to it. Perhaps IMus is ignorant of the history behind using remarks such as that. Be that as it may, His comments were inapproiate and i would be willing to guess he may be getting an education now.

It isn't racist. ANYONE can indeed be nappy-headed. It was said in the context of an insult and that's why he's been called out for it.

Imus works for the same division of the same company that I do, so I can't say anything more than that, but I'd sure like to.
