BMW Manufacturing Named "Plant of the Year"
Spartanburg, S.C.-based BMW Manufacturing was named 2006 “Plant of the Year” by Plant Engineering magazine. The factory was recognized for converting from a dual assembly line to a single assembly line, which streamlined the manufacturing process and improved efficiency. This coveted award is given each year to companies whose facilities demonstrate “productivity, safety and innovation” in industrial manufacturing.

  BMW Gives Drivers the Head-Up
Beginning with select 2007 models, an innovative instrument awareness system called a Head-Up Display. In the Head-Up Display, data is projected on the windshield at a very convenient and ergonomic position for the driver. Visible information includes road speed, navigation instructions, speed control data and warnings provided by BMW Check/Control in clear view at all times.
