I need a new camera, any suggestions?

The last day of the trip to Spain, my camera broke so now I need a new one. I have/had the Canon PowerShot S500.. I loved it! It was a great camera. My only complaint was that it didn't take good pictures in low light, but that's probably unavoidable. The main things I'm looking for in a new camera are:
1) I want it to be fairly small. My PowerShot fit into my pocket, because it had the same footprint as a credit card.
2) It needs to be pretty easy to use. I'm not a pro photographer, I just want a point and shoot camera that takes nice pictures easily.
3) I'm looking for 5.0+ megapixels.

I'm looking at the Canon PowerShot SD500, which is 7.1 megapixels. I had a PowerShot S230 before my S500 and I liked both of them a lot. I just wanted to ask the experts here their opinions on other cameras to look at.

I toyed around with the Sony T33. HolyCrap..the startup time and the focusing was real fast for a P&S. I was shocked. Its slim too. Dont know how the pics turned out though. I suggest you check it out.

The SD400 is great. I like the small size, the big LCD, and I really like Canon digicams. I had found this for a deal at Dell for $295 delivered. That's about $100 off other "cheap" prices. That deal is dead, I think.

One thing I don't like about the Sony cameras is the proprietary memory format. SD and CF cards are so much cheaper.

In any event, whatever camera you get you are obligated to furnish us with great pictures of your friends, girls only.

I just bought a Nikon Coolpix S1 and its been great. It has 5 megapixals and very easy to operate. It takes great pics too!

unless you move up to a something better than a p&s, low light focusing is going to be a problem. And it's not much better on a DSLR until you get an add-on flash or something with a focus assist light like on a canon DSLR(canon 300D, 350D, 10D or 20D), but then you're getting into a higher priced set of equipment.

I just sold my PowerShot G5, which I liked a lot. All Canon cameras are really good. I just bought a Kodak EasyShare Z740, and so far, so good. Takes very good pictures, and it is VERY easy to use. PLUS it has a 10x optical zoom (yes, optical, not digital)!!! It's a 5MP camera, and though it won't fit in your pocket, it is reasonably sized. You should check it out.

I like Canons best, too. We've had a few Sonys and I don't like them as much.

I had been looking for a small digital camera because my larger one was, well, large. On fathers day I was given a Casio Exilim EX-Z55. At first I thought Casio, they made that crappy digital watch I was given, however after taking some pictures I was impressed. I have read a number of reviews (amazon, cnet, etc.) and all seemed to like the camera as well. I now keep it in my pocket, and I am very pleased.

Highly recommend the DSC P200 from sony. Its 7MP, and compact with all the manual features you would want. For 350$ its a very good deal.
