You X5 owners probably feel the pain more than X3 owners........a 24 gallon tank versus our 17.7 tank. Thus, it doesn't cost more than most midsize sedans to fill up our X3 once a week.

Interestingly, today I sampled two extremes of driving: I had the pleasure (right...) of driving in downtown Baltimore during noon lunch hour. Horrible signal sync, idiot pedestrians, plus I was in a rush to pick up my friend from Johns Hopkins (who I kept waiting), the result was about 9 miles to the gallon. Then I reset it again on I-95 on the way home, mostly 75-85mph highway cruising and got 24.7mpg.

Rough man.

Yeah Chicago is about 3.40, from what I hear they have to use some special additive inside Cook County.

Not to continually sound gloomy, but I suspect
that the throngs won't be lining up for $65-$70G+ E70s,
espc. with the V8, after a couple of 'Canes, a few refineries
down and, premo is 4 bucks.

I paid just shy of $3 the other day for V power. I normally don't go below 1/4 tank before filling up. I was sucking fumes this time though. Pump shock, $63 to fill up. It doesn't seem to change my driving habits. I still hit that gas pedal hard enough to make the needle on my gas gauge move as fast as the needle on my speedo.
