is there a recall on the X5 for wheels?

our house is right next on the service lane. so i go out for a smoke and see this 2003 X5 on the side with people looking at the rear wheel. Moments later two more SUVs come to the rescue. I find out they all are from the dealership called koons (sells fords on route7 I think). I asked and one of the guys replied, the rear wheel fell off. I thought he was joking. he shows me and 3 lug nuts are missing and so are the bolts where the nuts go!!!. they had to use the jack to lift it back up and put the wheel back on. The guy sounded serious. Mentioned something about a recall. do you think he was bullshitting and I imagine the nuts must be super loose the wheel broke some of the bolts too..very creepy.

I seriously doubt such a recall. BMW would have started to madly send out letters if it were so.
