I drink it instead of coffee. Guayaki is a great brand you can get in Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Wild Oats (maybe) and other specialty/health grocerys stores. It's easy to make but you have to be careful not to make too hot or you'll burn the leaves. Some people don't like the taste, but I love it. Also, be careful not to drink too much initially because it has a lot more 'kick' than coffee

Its like coffee but the kick is much smoother and longer lasting than coffee. Not to mention much healthier, with the anti-oxdiens and etc

i don't know about synthetic caffiene, but I find green tea products to do the trick and make the whole running/offseason thing a lot easier... green tea lemonade from starbucks, so you can keep your status symbol
