I'm glad my X3 doesn't have an annoying seat belt chime. It beeps upon start up, but that's it. Nice if I unbuckle for a few secs since I may need to reach back and get something in the backseat. It doesn't reprimand me like the '07 Civic. But of course, I always fasten the seat belt.

always, everytime. Once I had a heavy bag in the pass seat, and I wanted to see how long the buzzer would sound, and it never shut up....lol. I think this was added with MY 2004+ X5.

It's not against the law, nor is it stupid, as not buckling when on the road is.
