If I had to list everything that just happend this race you'd be scrolling down all day! The main stuff: 1. Kubica seems to be alright after a horrendous crash. Thank goodness. 3. Lewis Hamilton wins the race!! Yes!! 2. Taku passes Alonslow!! Go Sato Go! 3. Massa and Fisi disqualified. Yes, that many exclamations were required.

Good race, saw about half of it as I was running around the house doing little jobs as it was on. Very glad to see Hamilton win, he is doing very well. +1 on the !!!
When Alonso let Sato by, he was showing his discipline as he has a championship to think about. Still, it was a good pass. How about Alonso getting up one place in the pit stop? It was a fast stop, the crew helped him there. Now, why was the TV signal so poor? Fox HD had it on, but it wasn't 16x9, it was chopped off at 4x3. ??? I switched over to TSNHD, which was at least 16x9. However, both of the feeds had a weak signal that kept breaking up (pixelation) The studio breaks were very clear and strong, as were other channels, so I think it was the feed from the track. If so, it was a pretty poor effort for the track cameras.

Jeff, the reason Fox HD feed didn't look so impressive was because it wasn't an HD feed. They were basically throwing the Speed telecast at us on Fox. The image was exactly the same on Fox non-HD. No pixelation/blocking issues here though.
Dunno what's going on with Kimi, but he/Ferrari need to step it up. Unless McLaren really start having reliability problems, the season is theirs (knock on wood). They have the better drivers and possibly the better car. It was also nice to see Heiki do well, he really deserves it. Quite a come back after disaserous practice and quali.. and really his whole first season so far. |

i think you left out the 5 safety car appearances (the announcers were funny - "the safety car has been out so much i'm afraid it might run out of gas", multiple wrecks at the wall of champions, little or no coverage of Hamilton during the entire race (sure he had a lead the entire time, but they barely mentioned him). Kubica's crash was incredible... i thought for sure that he was dead.
Nice 1st win for Hamilton, nothing like a flag to flag win for your 1st. Schumacher had better get his butt moving or his career could come to a sudden end at the end of the season.

Great race indeed! And good thing Kubica is doing okay after that very bad crash... Great for BMW Sauber getting a podium finish!
Now can't wait to watch it live at Indy next weekend!

In other news:
"Briton Anthony Davidson blamed a collision with a beaver for costing him a possible first Formula One points finish in Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix. The Super Aguri driver hit the animal while in third place behind the safety car at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. He finished 11th after making an unscheduled pitstop to replace a damaged front wing. "It's such a shame about the beaver," Davidson said in a team review of the race. "It had it in for me for sure.'" OMG! ![]() ![]() |

Turns out Kubica just twisted his ankle. Amazing after a crash like that.

Not wishing to take anything away from Hamilton, he did a great job and would have won irrespectively. But the ruling that effectively took Alonso and Rosberg out of contention for the podium is just plain daft - whoever thought that one up at FIA needs to be fired.

As far as Kubica goes.. you really have got to appreciate the technology and effectiveness of HANS and the monocoque structure.
Alonso/Rosberg: yea that was complete bull. As one of the autosport articles mentioned, it would've been ironically funny if either one of them would have run out of fuel on the track because of the rule. Twas such a good race up till that point for Rosberg.. |
