the dealer is very aggressive and based on volume sales... the sport has a huge discount (but other 3.2 would be a great deal as well imo)...

most volvo owners are conservative... the sport just doesn't fit in their lineup... hence the R series cars are not being produced in '08.

so what dealer?

My 2005 XC90 V8 is terrible compared to my 2005 E53 4.4i. The Volvo wallows and bounces, its steering is no longer tight at 30,000 miles and it wanders. The driveline is clunky and hesitates when you would like to shoot the gap in traffic. My wife actually calls it unsafe!

I can't wait to get out of my lease in 6 months! The Volvo was pretty when new, but I quickly found they were better at marketing a safety story than they are at building quality cars.

I was looking for another SUV and considered of buying XC90.
One thing I noticed when looked also the used ones, with only 25k in ODO, the leather seats looked like they were from a car with 100k in ODO, and my X5s seats look like new after 40k in ODO. Think about if your leather sofas would be as bad after a year or so, who would buy them.

Any way, I went and test drove the 2007 3.2, the ride is ok, space is ok and looks also, but power is not that good. Then right after that I went to next dealer and test drove ML 350 with sport pkg. Seating position is much better and the power of ML is much better than Volvo's. So after summing all up I bought the ML. The new X5 was just about to arrive to dealers but I don't like to buy cars of the first model year, they usually have problems.

yeah... i first drove the 3.2 (very much under powered)... the V8 is a different breed imo.
