More iPhone crap

keep an eye here for an unlocked version of the iPhone (I doubt it but this is a good site and has been selling cell phones..reputable? I don't know)

So no contracts, and use it anywhere. Data might not work out of the box.

For one thing, voicemail is not going to work. The visual voicemail sytem only works through the special server the Apple set up for AT&T. With another carrier, you would have no voicemail as the phone does not have normal voicemail settings. You could work around that by using the "dial your own number" method to retrieve voicemail, but that would be a pain as you would have to type in your access code each time.

If you are an existing member and in good standing I don't see why AT&T wouldn't give you the settings? I did this with my SE W880 and also my Uncle has gotten settings for the T Zones on his N95 from T Mobile. I think it's similar but could be wrong.

Apparently AT&T's contract with Apple prohibits them from giving any settings to unlock the phone. Actually, I'm pretty sure they don't even have the settings, only Apple does.
