Cool Name this woman: Riddle for the day

This woman's work has spared the lives of countless soldiers. Nearly every U.S. combat service member since the 1991 Gulf War has worn a helmet made with something this 83 year old woman invented.

She has been inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio.

I wonder if she got paid or did the company finally end up owning the product?

I would guess Barry, that she was paid as an employee of the company.
If she invented it, while working for Dupont as an inventor, scientist, etc. on their payroll, then it is only reasonable that Dupont would own the patent.

Imagine if every company that manufactured something and paid to have research and development staff, didn't own the products they were financing..
However, she might have had some sort of contract entitling her to a percentage of the profits.. But I doubt it.

I wouldn't be surprised if she were given a very nice bonus.
But police officers don't get bonus checks in the mail when they save someone's life. Nor fireman, nor astronauts, etc.

She was doing her job, and doing it well. and invented a great product.

Pretty amazing lady! What's more amazing is that it happened in a time when most women were not in the workforce much less the scientific arena. Another lucky thing was that her higher-ups recognized the discovered and ran with it.
