Funny... but chauvinistic.

I used to be a huge fan of Carlin. I even went out and saw him live once. In the last few years, though, he's turned into a raving, lunatic who makes very little sense and talks out of his ass... Don't know what's going on there, but his "edge" has turned into a "whiny, ornery old man" who can't be funny unless he's insulting someone or complaining about something. Oh yeah, Ghallager, this goes for you as well.

And good for her! She was used as an example, I thought. All of that for $64K?? She makes that much in one day! That trial was nothing but a dog and pony show for the NY DA, and I am glad to see that she's coming back stronger than ever.

The funny thing is that if she had just admitted that she dumped the stock on inside info she probably would have just paid a fine and it all would have been over. Not to mention that she was just a tad bit short sighted in engaging in insider trading in the first place, and for what? under $100,000? she makes that in about 5 minutes. While I agree that she was made an example of, she sure as hell wasn't too smart for doing it in the first place for such a pittance of a loss that she could have written off and then lying about it. Not too smart on either count.

Maybe she didn't dump the stock on inside info. There is a lot going on behind the scenes we don't know about. Her position? Why admit it if you don't believe your wrong. It must not have been about the money, but if thats the sentence you get for what was suppose to be a lie then it wasn't about the supposed lie.
My guess is it had to be about something else.

Carlin forgot to mention she also lied to the Feds - The stock was a buy when she went in and a sell when she got out - I agree the amount of money was ridiculously small compared to her wealth, but her ego, arrogance, and lies cost alot of other people alot of money.
