steam pipe explosion in midtown
absolutely insane, i work about 4 blocks from there.... midtown is insane right now.

The New York Times is reporting that nobody was killed and only one person injured. After watching that video, I find that a bid hard to believe, but hopefully they are right.

 Paul J. Browne, a police spokesman, said the explosion around 6 p.m. was “not terrorist-related.” Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg is scheduled to give a televised briefing at 7:45 p.m. at 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue.
