TOP-10 10 Vehicles with the Highest Resale Value

2 BMW's and the Acura MDX showed up on this list. But this resale thing came up yesterday after looking over the prices of CPO'd X5's at the dealer. Some of them were in the high 30's and more. So i got to thinking, would the private sale of one's X5's be more attractive with extended warranties?

Japan is doing something right. 6 of the 10 are theres and all but the (IS 350) would be considered 'family' cars and priced at the lower end of the spectrum. It's interesting the 6 of the top ten are Japanese cars (5 priced under 50k). While the 3 German cars are all 80k + (2 actually over 100k) and seems that the 'rare' factor is what keeps the value.

No real point, just struck me as I was looking at the list. Mass produced moderate priced 'family' cars from Japan hold value better than the high priced performance cars from Germany. I guess I would have just thought it would have been the other way around. Supply and demand I guess.

these guys are clueless.. I don't see Ferraris on that list. Ferrari F40 current resale at <$495K. Enzo with MSRP of ~$600K, selling for over $1.2 mil. 599 GTB. MSRP 300K, most are going for $500K in the secondary market....

Interesting....

When I bought my 99 Mercedes C230K, it was on that list @ 52% value after 5 years. Now I don't see a single Mercedes on that list.
