Just a little news for you Jazz lovers. I went to see Lee Ritenour last evening at Yoshi’s Jazz Club in Oakland. http://www.yoshis.com/jazzclub He brought along Patrice Rushen on piano, Brian Bromberg on bass and Alex Acuna on percussion. What a show. If you haven’t been to this venue you owe it to yourself to stop by. It’s an incredible room. Yoshi’s is opening a second venue in the historic Fillmore district in San Francisco. http://www.yoshis.com/sf Looks like the design will be the same except in San Francisco the club will have a balcony which the Oakland spot doesn’t have. On a sad note Max Roach passed away which is just another in a long list of Jazz greats that have left us. I’m making it a point to see as many of these incredible artist as I can.
