Hi Gang,

I am no expert but was hoping someone here would know better than I would.

My furnace at home pumps out hot air to most of the vents in the house , I would say about 80% of them, but no air comes out of the other 20% of the vents . Any suggestions on how I can make them all work? I'm hoping this is not a costly fix, maybe something as simple as me moving something around or flipping a switch.

No clue to your house layout and duct work that you have:
a blocked or broken duct(s), an air handler inoperative,
critters camped in duct(s), some combo of the above.

Many older duct systems have a "valve" in a main runner
which may be "turned off" or broken or stuck closed.

Many newer systems use cheap azz ribbed plastic and
the $8 hr "HVAC installer" did a poor job and over time
that duct(s) has sagged and blocked itself off.

A good, nimble HVAC man should be able to diagnose it
in under an hour. Worth it, imo.

Nimble not needed these days. I believe they can clean them with a long brush and vacumn and check it out with a light attached camera.

the ones not blowing must be air inlet, a return to the furnace.

Air inlet, a return to the furnace sounds like it might be it because all of the other pump air very well. I will take a look at the vents tonight and see if any of the valve's are turned off.
