Iowa Republicans

Iowa Republicans. Don't you understand that the Democrats want nothing more than to have Mike Huckabee running on the Republican ticket regardless of who wins the Democratic nomination?

Sad indeed...

Surprising night indeed.

Side note: Heard this on CNN - "Obama is like RFK, JFK and Martin Luther King Jr...." ahhhh while that is a nice comparison, they were all assassinated...don't know if I'd want my name in that lot.

Best photo of the night:

I'm honestly surprised Obama came out on top. I was thinking it was eventually going to come down to Clinton/Huckabee.

Huckabee won because 60% of the Iowans who voted are evangelicals as is he... Iowa was a slam dunk for him, wait for NH.

Huckabee is a likable guy who is presenting a message that resounds with a large percentage of America, the "Mr & Mrs Joe Average". The Averages are ignored by much of the media, and most of the folks on the East and West coasts. Most folks in "flyover country" have the same basic beliefs as Huckabee, regardless of the "evangelical" label. I think that if Huckabee can resist the media attack on his Christian underpinnings, he will do fine. Those who are secular tend to be wary or antagonistic of those who are religious.

I wouldn't put too much in what happened here in IA. Remember that the last time any candidate that got the nod from IA (either party) and won was Carter. Not a good track record from us Iowegans.

I think the "notice" is more so because Clinton and Romney thought they were guaranteed a win.
