Man my experience with iPods has sucked.

Apparently these aren't made for working out

Had two 4G's die, now yesterday my 5G died. I don't drop them or bang them the only thing I can imagine is the die when I'm running (not built to shake I guess).

If running is your thing, def. go for a flash one.

Running is just as bad as the hard disk from the hard disk's point of view as constant shaking...

That was my guess, I can't believe for $300+ there is little shock absorption built in but, oh well, live & learn. Any reco's as to a specific one??

I would recommend a Nano or a shuffle. They are both solid state. So are the iPhone and Touch, but you may not want to spend that much. I would also recommend that you get Applecare on any iPod. Buy it after your 90 days of free service expires. It is a good value.

If it's brand new (post 2006) then it's 1GB! Sounds like a good deal
