test driver for car companies

How does one get a job like that?

I knew 2 people back in the day and one only did it as a part time gig. This dude got to drive the Bentley GT before it was introduced to the general public, and his day job is a teacher. And the other guy I knew was a test driver for Honda. I mean his job was just literally drive Honda cars and competitor cars all day long and got paid like $50k right out of college. He got to drive the Lexus IS300 and it wasnt even out on the market.

Anyone know?

Having worked in the automotive publishing business back in the day for about 75 publications, I can sincerely tell you that test driving new cars gets old very very very quickly.

It's like eating your favorite food for every meal.

I'ld rather be on the outside looking in and preseve my enthusiasm.

I wonder how much fun these Hyundia drivers had getting to this stage of "synchronized driving"? It looks good now but the practicing must been boring and time consuming...

I can see what you mean. but i'm looking at it from a strictly j.o.b. perspective, it seems like its a decent paying job for relative minimal experience.

anyone else care to chime in.
