Monte Carlo Hotel Casino in Las Vegas on fire now

Huge blaze...You would think having over 3000 rooms and being a modern hotel that there would be some pretty sophisticated fire suppression systems in place.

I'd hate to be the one in charge of the money during the evacuation.

Seems to have looked a lot worse than it really was and reports are that the sprinkler system was effective at suppressing the fire on the inside of the hotel. The fire looked worse on the outside because the facade was insulated with Styrofoam which as some of you know is quite flammable and melts into fiery drips.

Reports are firefighters and the hotel fire sprinklers dumped a million gallons on the blaze. That alone is going to account for most of the damage to the hotel especially seeing the fire was on the roof and top floor. I bet the watter pressure in Las Vegas was greatly diminished during the fire.
