It's all about the power of the political machine, the Religious Right blindly voting as a bloc, Special Interests, and a brother who was Governor of Florida. And if you'll recall, he didn't exactly "win" the election. He lost the popular vote, but managed to snag the electoral college. He got in on a technicality.
That he's a moron goes without saying. The larger question is, now which current candidate has the cojones and skill to rebuild our country to some sense of its former status in the world? McCain? An old man who has reasonable ideas, but has been in politics for too many years. Huckabee? Like we need another religious zealot in the White House? Whatever happened to "separation of church and state?" Obama? A junior senator with limited experience? I question his statements about meeting with the heads of the main countries that hate us within his first year in office. Negotiating with terrorists is never a good idea. And Hillary? Say what you will, but compared to the rest, she just might be the best man for the job. And THAT's a scary concept. Dave
