Apparenlty the US Congress has very little to do these days.
Investigating MLB over steroids from 2000 and beyond, useless Spectre calling the commissioner of the NFL in to discuss how he handled the whole Patriots debacle. I was under the impression the government was suppose to RUN THE GOVERNMENT not maintain accountability in sporting events. Seems to me there simply isn't enough to do on the hill these days. I would have thought the current recession (yes we're in one), wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, illegal aliens, FEMA issues, problems with NAFTA and other trade agreements, the ever diluted value of the US dollar and their own personal scandals would have been enough to keep them busy.
I can't believe there isn't more outrage over this. These people are being paid to, apparently, investigate sporting events. Quick hit, if the commissioner of a league, regardless of sport, makes a ruling in the league that is the rule, there is no negotiation and if there is it is done by owners in the league, or players unions, not Congress. I'm amazed, utterly amazed, that news agencies have seem to let this take the back burner. As if this type of oversight is to be expected in sports. It's time the government got their fat and lazy hand out of everyone else's business. Commentary over. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3246788
