Finally found this thread! Thanks jayjay for letting me know about it. Nagbasa muna ako ng early posts before posting and mention of St. Martha's along Azusa and Toto's lechon Manok and all the other Pinoy eateries in West Covina brings back a lot of memories. My wife and i lived in Covina for 5 years before coming back to the Philippine in 1997. We still vissit once in a while and during our last visit in 2008, we were lucky enough to have as our 'serbis' my brother's X5. I loved driving that car. Put in 3K miles on the clock during our 4 week stay. Even drove it to Tahoe. Sorry forr the mileage bro!

Anyway, the same brother is the one who helped me find my car in Sherman Oaks - a 2005 Le Mans Blue 4.8is. I drove it out of the Customs stalag at the North Harbor just last 25 september - a day before the great flood.

I now live with my own family in Quezon City, but grew up in our family compound in Erap country - San Juan. My mom still lives there ad she called me this morning to tell me to visit her as she wants to see my 'new' car.

Anyway, I'm rambling. It's great to find this thread. Hope to interact with you guys more.

I did not know you already knew about the X5 forum here...

BTW, You might be interested in joining us back in the Philippines. I am a member of Bimmer Club Philippines (BCP) - Bimmer Club Philippines | Home

Hope to see you soon. I am trying to gather as many X5 owners as possible and try to form a small X5 Philippines club-informal group...

regards,

blueagle ( James)

Yes I checked import regulations and it seems the X5 does not qualify for import even as a 'balikbayan' I wonder the the loophole is?

Based on the latest Bureau of Customs memo, you cannot import any second hand bmw model .
