I really dont want to start a heated debate but it amazes me many post away happily exchanging views and/or joining in the banter yet others can attempt to make informative contributions, (often for benefit of others),which are ignored.

I read on another board another UK X5 owner stating they had noticed a lack of reponse to their posts on here.

Is there some sort of hidden code required to gain acceptance here ?

Is there a secret ceremony required perhaps involving removal of clothes ?

Do I need to post a picture of me wearing some form of ceremonial x5world costume ?

I hope it's not because I am British ? (joke) -

Not trying to cause disaffection - far from it......more of a case of me wanting to clear the air ( although this post maybe a bit too premature to intitiate a group hug session)

As above - keen to keep this lighthearted whilst capable of laughing at myself too - Just wondered if anyone would care to comment, (chatty regulars or alienated others).

If me or others are doing something wrong then maybe some polite feedback would be helpful or some top tips as to what is required to gain acknowlegment, (acceptance can come later)

Don't get me wrong - great board but I sometime feel like an outsider walking into a remotely situated bar.

Then again - maybe I am just paranoid & need to speak to my mind surgeon

I think most Americans are wary of Brits because you drive on the wrong side of the road. That just seems dangerous. :p

I think the response to certain questions can be lukewarm if the question is one that has been beaten to death. As our E53's get older and more and more people have joined us here, the same old questions keep getting asked and those who have been here for a while simply do not answer them as they have answered it many times before. That is why we encourage the use of the "search" function.

How'bout a for instance?

If it was a "how-do-I-check-my-tire/tyre pressure" question or,
some bit of info easily gleaned from the Front Page or, from a
simple search, then that's what occurs here and on any other
seasoned board.

If it was a reasonable, sincere question then I really doubt that
"the poster" didn't get a good response.

There is no code to break...hellsbells, some of the posters that aren't
on my Holiday Card list, still get responses from idiots like me!

I understand re frequent questions thats why I lurked around for ages and learned from those with knowledge rather than posting random nonsense questions the manual could tell me or which a basic search would give me info on.

I know what you mean re newbies and same old questions but I have made well over a hundered posts on here. I even wrote a buyers guide faq on
x5drivers.co.uk which is a sticky in general discussion.................Just think of the service I have provided saving uk owners posting daft repetitive questions before buying ?
