I'm really wondering how comfortable a $50,000 mattress is haha. You win the "Most Gluttonous Purchase" award for that one.

I've owned 802D's and they are very nice speakers. They were part of a surround sound system in my theater matched to a HTM1 center speaker.

It is really easy to go overboard fast with high end audio with very slight gains. Some go nuts with ceramic speaker wire lifts to keep them off the ground for cleaner sound. Then again I've got about $5,000 invested in misc wires and cables so I guess I'm part of the asylum.

Funny thing...There is about an 8 month waiting list to get one.

I'm REALLY liking that table!!!

When you consider the cost of a nice granite slab per square foot, I guess 20k really isn't out of the line for something so unique. Did you get that slab cut, or is the table the actual slab? (either way, it's beautiful! polish the real rough/pointy edges and keep the entire slab is what I would do!)

My "gluttonous" purchases aren't nearly as big as some of yours (being that 10 years ago I was in middle school ) , but most of my guns are gluttonous because $2k for a gun just because it looks "cool", might be considered pretty damn stupid, and buying 7 of what are essentially the same exact gun at just under $2k so that you have matching guns, might be even more stupid!

Now, back to that table....who did you get it through? Was it a national wholesaler, some auction like place, or did you stumble upon it? I really REALLY do like that!

We've been remodeling our house for the past couple of years and we stumbled upon these pieces while buying granite for the rest of the house (4 bathrooms, the fireplace, and the kitchen). So we saw the slabs and bought them on the spot since they are nearly impossible to get (I believe they said the meteor that made them only made 5 slabs and we got around 3) and we had no idea what we were going to do with them. Usually there aren't any slabs of granite when a strike happens because the strike creates gems and gold / silver / platinum so it is usually mined and turned into jewelry, so we were just very lucky to get a hold of it. So after about 6 months of them just sitting at the granite store we decided we needed a new dining room table and the store took care of it.
