Cunningham irritates McCain

After holding a successful, enthusiastic campaign rally at Cincinnati’s Memorial Hall Tuesday, the last thing John McCain wanted to do was to walk out in front of the media and apologize for what the warm-up act said.

But that is what an obviously irritated McCain did during the noon hour Tuesday, when he came out and denounced remarks made by WLW talk show host Bill Cunningham, who delivered a 10-minute speech in which he insulted Barack Obama, Hillary and Bill Clinton, and the media in general.

watched that last night, McCain was apologizing like crazy for that guy. After Cunninghams CNN interview he said "McCain must be getting old if he can't remember me....I'm backing Clinton now".

It's Big Willy. I was born and raised listening to the guy. They knew what they were getting into when they asked him to speak. Interestingly enough, it hasn't really been a big deal here in Cincinnati because people of both parties laugh at him together but for different reasons. It's the people that don't "know" Big Willy that are all shocked/angered/annoyed by it.

Having said that, does it make what he said right? Probably not. But since it's Big Willy, you take it with a grain of salt.

The big issue here is that he and others keep repeating Obama's middle name Hussein. While calling him by all 3 names is not insulting him in any way, the reason they are doing it is to confuse people into thinking he is Muslim and hoping that the general anti-Muslim feeling among many Americans will cause him to lose votes. And I can tell you it is working, especially in the Jewish community.

My parents had some company over a couple of weeks ago -- all Jewish people in their 50s and 60s and all educated retired professionals. When the subject came up, about half of those in the room said they would not vote for Obama because he is Muslim. When I told them he is a Christian, they said they did not believe that and expressed that they believe he is really Muslim and has been hiding it in order to get elected. A few of them also said they believe he is an anti-Semite and is a supporter of Louis Farrakhan.

Now where do you suppose all of these intelligent people conjured up these beliefs? It is obviously a result of misinformation by right wing hacks like this guy.
