Poll: Bikers
What does everyone think about bikers who do that? I don't ride anymore, but I know a few of you guys have bikes, especially interested in hearing from y'all. JV

As a biker, I say NAY !!!!
Never, ever, rush between cars. No one knows your there and you are asking for a date with the ground. Now, if you are at a light and are slowly navigating through cars, politely, and people know you are there, it's ok. But I caution people to not even do that. A moto is one of the most dangerous weapons in the hands of the wrong driver. Absouletely anything you can do to protect yourself while riding is a smart choice. B

If I had my way, I'd hold out an aluminum bat horizontally out my window if I saw such a stunt coming near me from behind.
Haven't heard the metal-to-bone sound in real life yet...

The same thing happened to me the other day.. A Buell and a Hayabusa came flying past me in between lanes on 393 the other day at rush hour. Felt like opening the doors. What happens if someone changes lanes quickly in front of them?! Do these people think?

As a Ryder myself, I say it's dangerous...but so is crossing the street at night. I agree with B Line, slowly navigating the course is ok. I would caution you guys that are considering open your doors or sticking something out the window....DON'T DO IT!!!
Bikers already feel that automobiles disrespect them. Don't give a biker a reason to act a fool. I'm speaking from X-perience. I believe those that do are only upset about the biker beating the traffic. Let the boys in blue do their job..........Phil

For the record, if you want to see some SERIOUS action...
Spend about 1-2 hours on I-95 in S. Florida between Miami and Aventura.. - the average rate of travel of a car on I-95 (no traffic) is usually about 85mph. No exaggeration. It is clear, open road. I can't tell you the countless times I've been driving, lets say doing 90mph, very normal on that road, and a motorcycle comes out of no where and passes me doing no less that 120mph. And, sometimes they have passengers on the back with them. And, often it is not one bike but 8-10 bikes that come out of nowhere.. I've seen them doing speeds of 150+.. - now the flip side of that story. Without fail, at least once every other month, you see one of these bikes blow past you at some crazy speed. Twenty minutes later you are still driving on the same road and you see the poor schmuck and his girlfriend laid out all over I-95.. Dead as a doornail. This is soooooooo common, the police are no longer allowed to chase motorcycles on that stretch of road. The chases were too dangerous. Now they just let them go and pick up the pieces when the wreck. -- Another quick story, I was driving home from a Morosso track day. Cruising at about 80-85mph (on I-95). I am in the second to left lane and a motorcycle pulls up right next to me. He drops back about 50 yards, and pops a huge wheelie. He pulls up next to me while he is on his back wheel. I give him a thumbs up and he gives me one back, (he is still on his back wheel....) and carries the wheelie for about two more minutes then hauls ass outta there.. Again, this all happened between 85mph to 100mph.. B

B, that's what bikers do. Is it smart... Hell No, but it's the thrill of the ride. I myself have buzzed cars at speeds above 140-150...it's the nature of the beast. It's all a calculated risk. The fact remains that automobile drivers shouldn't increase the risk by opening doors or playing chicken with a bike. As the president of a bike club, I've seen my share of foolish sh**.....Trust Me..............Phil

My friend's brother has a Dodge Stealth Turbo and one day he was on 393 and was racing a Vette Z06. He took it up to 150. The vette was in the lane next to him (the highway was empty).. The Vette pulls up next to him flips him off, drops a gear, and zooms off... Or so I hear. IDK if Vettes can really go that fast?
