Thumbs up Must rent "The Incredibles"

I just rented this movie and loved it. Pixar entertainment does the most phenominal job with animation that I have ever seen. The movie was also recorded in THX, so the sound is AWESOME. I found it very entertaining. Even if you don't normally like animated movies, you will like this one. I may buy it for the collection, since it also has THX Optimizer which I can use to adjust the TV video settings in the future.

I have the movie at home (from Netflix) - I'm looking forward to watching it, but I just can't find the time. Nice to hear it was good, now I can try and make some time.

What did you pay/where did you buy?? Looks like it is $17.99 through Amazon. On another note, if one has a 16:9 format TV, wouldn't it be better to get the fullscreen so you can fill up the entire screen and take advantage of the extra viewing area??

My Zenith 16:9 TV allowed me to fit widescreen movies to fill the entire screen.

Fullscreen movies are fotmatted for old 4:3 TVs. Widescreen is formatted for 16:9 TVs.

Jeff, yeah, I can view full screen if I want with the Zoom feature, but it distorts the image. Here is an explanation I found on the internet

WIDESCREEN vs FULLSCREEN

LISTEN UP, you f__king idiots; Widescreen is better than fullscreen. I can prove it, but it won’t matter – you’ll still buy the ‘pan and scan’ version on DVD. Regardless, I’m going to explain to you why Widescreen is made the way it is, why its better, and I’ll continue to berate you at the same time. Amazing, I know.
A movie screen is wide and rectangular, unlike your box-like TV set. For a film to fit on your TV set, either the sides have to be cut off, excising much of the picture, action, and characters, or the movie needs to be ‘letterboxed’. Letterboxing, or ‘those black bars,’ returns the movie to its original length and shows you MORE picture, not less. It’s the way the director intended you to see the film- ALL of the film. Sure, it looks smaller, unlike your waist-size, but rest assured you are seeing more of the movie. It doesn’t help that the movie studios and DVD producers continue to pander to the moronic masses by confusing you further and releasing more DVDs in separate formats; Wide and Full. Its like Cable vs Local TV; the local station cuts out all of the fucking swears. You HATE that, right? Am I getting through to you at all..? Anyone…?

Exactly, I would use a special zoom mode that would eliminate the black "letterbox" areas on the top and bottom of the screen, but it definately did not distort the picture.

Also, some DVD players also will support this mode so that the 16:9 TV receives a picture that fills the entire screen without distortion.

I also thought it was very good. The animation is so good that some things started to look real. And to think we were so entertained by "Tom & Jerry" and claymation.

I think the next "The Incredibles" should add the character "SuperGreg" and his "Wunderdog Zema". You will look sooooo hot in red tights.
