http://209.85.173.104/search?q=cache...&client=safari Apparently The Mini Cooper Diesel is now the cleanest car BMW has ever built, having a combined fuel consumption figure of 64mpg and emitting just 104g/km of carbon dioxide emissions - tailpipe emissions that were unfeasible three years ago. According to the diesel car I just drove a few days ago (Vaux Vectra) I was getting 40 mpg combined.....with good power (150hp)......
On their site they say it emits 150g/km.

That was the last generation Mini, I believe. That engine was designed by Chrysler. The current petrol engine comes from PSA, same as the diesel. It does get several BMW features to improve efficiency.
