Ameritrade now. I had Datek, which was bought by them. No complaints, but I am also not doing that much trading at the moment.

Ameritrade for the past five years. Go with anyone but Scottrade. Had worst experiences with them. You put a trade and surprisingly and frustratingly, it gets executed twice, even when you don't have any margin left. Never ever go with Scottrade.

Talking Fidelity Investments

I worked there for 8 years up until this april, I left cuz it was time...anyway...best trading platform and website BARNONE!!!!! Private company too...never have to worry about buyouts or making shareholders happy. They pour millions into updating tech every year. If your a new account you get some free trades up front as well.

My experience wit Scottrade has been quite the opposite. I've never had anything executed twice. Everyhting has been just fine.

Thanks for all the information. I guess I should have mentioned that I am currently using etrade. I have decide to switch because they are charging too much. I guess I don't trade as much as they would like me to.

I recently found this report

http://webreprints.djreprints.com/1191471487207.html

According to this, Scottrade has the lowest price.

and the jd power deal
http://www.scottrade.com/frame_awardpr.asp

I hope to hear some more advice.

Thank you!

I use Schwab. I'm not an active trader but I think they've gotten a bit more competitive on that front lately. They have good benefits for $100k (or is it $250K?), $500k and $1m in assets. Anyway, I've never had any issues with them and their customer service is very good.

Been using Scottrade for on-line trades - works very well... Although I do research on other systems.

I use CharleySchwab, too, simply because they and US Trust, whom Schwab bought, have 95% of our non-real estate port. I don't day trade, though I would consider myself a semi-active trader, esp in my non-tax account. Schwab charges me $9.95/trade, their StreetPro software is adequate for my needs. Without a multitude of daily or monthly trades, saving a few bucks by moving assets to one of the cheaper deal is not one of my needs.
