Is there a New Jersey ticket blitz??

OK, either I am completely hallucinating, or there is something crazy going on all over northern New Jersey. I see cops everywhere. Both State Police and local. I would say it's been about 3 to 4 weeks of this now. My 90 mph Turnpike sprints are being rudely interrupted by the chirping of my radar detector. And it's the same thing in all the towns.

Not the usual sporadic speedtraps, but rather on every few corners there's a cruiser poised and ready to "spring".

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

I'm wondering if this is a ticket blitz, or if there is a tri-state area security concern, because someone here mentioned they're seeing it in NYC, also for the past 3 weeks.
