I forgot to mention.....
When I was racing in Vegas last week, the race track was literally across the street from the take off runway for Nellis Air Force base. All day on Thursday and Friday and to a much lesser degree on Sat and Sun, we watched no less than hundred take off's from Nellis. Among the fleet we saw at least two Raptor's and they did do vertical climbs like the one you just saw in the video. IT WAS INSANE !!!! We also saw the Thunderbirds (Air Force version of the Blue Angels) practicing formations. Saw lots of other fighter jets, c-130's, just about the only insane plane we didn't see was the B2... It was the best airshow I have ever seen.

If you can get onto Langley AFB you can drive to the east end of the runway on the perimeter road and they'll either approach or take off right over you. It's a cool sight. Langley is my unit of assignment and when I run on the perimeter road it helps the runs when you get the adreniline rush because of a low pass!
