"Kayaking" Pics...
"winter"/spring day here in SW FLA... Me&theBoss did a few hours paddle out through the myriad bays to the gulf and back. Lots of birds, nice fish jumping, one gator, some nice boats and big buck condos, etc. Out from Bonita Springs, through Wiggins Pass to the Gulf, and back. I only took a few pics, as I had my lil' Canon S50 triple freezer bagged in case I tipped. Note the "River Shack", someone's full time joint on the river and the "African Queen" looking boat. That motor will need some work. Highly rec'd for a fun half a day...thanks for looking. BR,mD

Looks like fun but, what do you do when you see a crocodile?

I think you check your shorts when you see a croc. As Florida is home to the GATOR...

There are actually a handful of crocs in the Keys. I've seen them.
mD, when do you head back to the hill?

There actually are a few Crocs in the far southern areas around the "tip" of FL, and around the lower keys; at least some have been reported by the fish and wildlife dept. They prefer the brackish waters and/or near salt water conditions.
The gators we see, even around the big ponds here on the golf course are fairly lethargic, at least in daytime. They recently caught (and probably killed after dragging it away), an 11.5 footer at the "lake" on our #17th hole; it supposedly had charged some ol'lady walking her dog. I don't swim with them, nor give them any provocation; diving with sharks is seemingly much less risky, to me, in our experiences. |

Ray,
In 10ish days...I need a teleporter machine and a gang to come in and get us organized here, pre-migration. 2 cars loaded to the gunnels, 2 drugged cats, files and paperwork, flash drives full of pics and info, etc. Not beefing, but a 2nd joint is a pia, 'spensive, and a logistical nightmare. The twin, but not mirrored set of friends and lifestyle is odd, too. |
