We do a lot of AudioRequest VRQ Servers (VideoRequest). For $3500, you get a processor and a Sony 400 Disc ES Line changer (retail). It can easily be intergrated with ANYONE's system. The easy menus and ability to stack changers makes it the best bang for your buck. If you have $25,000 laying around and you are using a control system like Crestron, Kaleidescape is the way to go....for now....maybe a few weeks.....or maybe tomorrow? When will they ever get out of court??? If you guys didn't know, they are getting sued for copyright violation from the MPA. It is "too easy" to copy a NetFlix or Blockbuster movie they say. The Kaleidescape actually downloads your movie onto its multiple hard drives. A VideoRequest works differently. You actually need to have the DVD in the Sony changer to watch it. The VideoRequest menus just provide you an "on-demand" menu which helps you sort through up to 1200 discs. No copyright violation there.... It's your actual disc.

Don't get me wrong, I understand where you’re coming from. The systems we design are not for everyone. We have installed tons of Prontos and Niles IntelliControls for many clients. They work great! We have also installed cheaper lighting systems. We do however cater mostly to a different crowd than 95% of the A/V companies out there. Most of our clients “just want it done” and they want it to work with out any problems and they don’t want to think about it. If they have to work one bit at it, they don’t want it. Our clients want their light switches colored matched “Majestic Rouge” and are willing to pay for it. They also want their plasma TVs to motorize from the foot of their beds. Not a problem. Your model pronto or at least the TSU-7000 will most likely outsell all Crestron and AMX remotes combined, but they have a different market. Bentley has a different market than Lexus. Then again, who wants a $70,000 SUV (SAV) that does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds and runs 14 second quarter mile? I do! In summary, if you are willing to put in the time and effort, yes you can accomplish very excellent automation and integration at a fraction of the cost.
