Bush is really a moron.

He wants the Saudi's to raise oil production, as if oil production is the reason the cost of oil is up...it isn't.

I fully agree with OPEC, there is no reason what so ever to raise production. Try refining more fuel...or not trading based on the hammered dollar. This is just a "please let my approval rating go up" PR nightmare.

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
Last time I looked crude oil prices were a record high, so more production should help.

That said I do agree that Bush is a moron.

Production isn't the problem, there is plenty of oil.

It's really our limited refining capacity, and it's been that way for quite awhile. It's basically a bottleneck. More crude oil doesn't mean it'll get refined any faster.

Bingo, thank Nixon and the creation of the EPA which hasn't allowed a new refinery to be built since the 70's. Lets save the planet, we just will not be here

getting the middle east to produce more oil doesn't help us, we get the majority of our oil from canada.

Let's drill Alaska. Caribou are tasty anyway.

The problem with gas supply in US

As long as states and locals governements are lowering taxes to please the electorate and keep gas price the lowest in the (at least NON EXPORTING) world, well I encourage contry to reduce shipment of oil to US. There are way to many big cars and hummers and SUV's (which by the way should be illegals). Only when price of gas will be at par with europeen contries i.e. 5$ and more per gallon will supply of oil to US should be resumed.

Canada should also reduse flow to US we are a major producer of oil and should enjoy cheaper price then US despite higher taxes. I dont blame taxes for higher price I blame contries like US that dont taxe gas so that consumer enjoy cheaper price and spoil gas.

As for Alaska oil, well if US wants to exploite it good but it has to go trough Canada and we should charge more then an arm and a leg for the rigth of passage. Since none of the US gov and local one will taxe it.

The only way is to taxe the hell out of gas so pple start using smaller car.... at the end it will be better for every one, cleaner air, cheaper on consumer and more revenue for governement... who knows maybe there will be good free medical care in the US.

And I know its to late for that but Bush should have never been president, someone brave should have taken care of him at the begining. The world would have been a better place and Hell would have realy deserved its name. But its too late now.

So you're saying that someone brave should have killed the president early in his term? Wow are you an idiot. No wonder you don't live in the greatest country in the world.

You guys need to watch your C-SPAN....

Last week the heads of all the oil companies testified before the Senate Energy Committee. What was discussed during the hearing is that at no time during the last 5 years have the oil companies used more than 85% of their current refining capacity. When confronted with this, the oil execs basically tap-danced around the questions on this subject.

Until they are using their entire refining capacity, the excuse that there is not enough refining capacity is BS.
