Environmentalists...and Polar Bears.

Why is it whenever an environmentalist discusses Polar Bears it looks like this:

and not these?

Polar bears aren't cute cuddly animals. They're savage, blood-thirsty bears that eat seals to keep alive, as depicted accurately by the last picture.

@ classic post Wagner..

doesnt mean they should be extinct or we shouldnt care LOL. Polar bear or grizzly bear, you should run when you see one. Only safe bear is a Teddy Bear.

...all of the creatures are "savage, blood-thirsty" ...that's how
any of the species survive. Eat, and ultimately get eaten.

Does that make the P bears "bad", "good" or simply a bear species
that evolved to survive in arctic conditions.

I like Big R's juxtaposition, but the fact is that environment, for p bears
and the other creatures that live in the arctic, is changing. Whether
that "change" is man induced, man pressured, normal climate shift, or
some combo, is the real point. It seems to me it's sort of "is what it
is"; I doubt we could really slow, let alone "stop" that change if the
world halted what "its doing", tomorrow.

I'm not tree hugging; the p bears and many other species are under
huge pressure, as their ecosystem changes, either from climate change
and/or loss of habitat, probably initiated by man's methods in conjunction
with standard to weird weather and climate changes.

The polar bear is an easy mark, recognizable and "liked"...other species
are in a similar or the same situ, but don't have the sex appeal.

My point is, we are/will be, all under some real pressure.
