24 Hrs of LeMans

Who's following it? Pretty damn good race in LMP1 between Peugeot and Audi.

Pretty remarkable that Porsche is basically done for in GT2. What a disaster.

See you in the morning.

Wow, no one else followed the race? Audi basically took it by being consistent. Peugeot weren't quite set-up for the conditions, but still seemed like they coud've easily taken barring their strategic errors. Hope they take it next year! Really very close till the end!

Aston Martin won even though they've been on a tight budget and haven't really raced much this year!

Btw, Nascar came on right after and I realized how lame it is compared to roadracing. What a contrast between two consecutive shows. :p

I watched just a little bit of it. My problem with watching road racing on TV (especially if there aren't any competitive BMW's in the field) is that I am not familiar with the drivers or their personalities. Therefore, it is hard for me to really get into it. I know it is different in other parts of the world, but here in the US we really don't get a chance to know the drivers very well. Seeing it in person is a different thing all together and much more exciting, IMO.

It's easy to watch these drivers because a lot of them (Audi, etc) drive in ALMS. Most of the Peugeot drivers are/were Formula 1 drivers. With LeMans, esp the 24hr race, it's much more about the teams than so in other series.

You didn't miss much in terms of pic qual. The world feed was neither in HD nor 16:9.

Bah, I don't follow the drivers too much when it comes to the 24hr LeMans. Like vinuneuro said, it's more about the teams.... and I was so hoping Peugeot was going to pull the upset. They looked great in the first hours... I'd say easily till about hour 10 or 12 when all 3 cars ended up in the garage.

I DVR'd it and watched some... DVR'd the beginning and watched yesterday. The start was GREAT! Watched some early morning hours last night, and now I just have the end left.... I already knew who won when I set it up to record the end with 40 some odd minutes to go all they were talking about was Audi.

Good for AM and their Gulf colors. Too bad Porsche went out fast in LMP2, and the Judd/AM car didn't show well in LMP1. I cannot wait till BMW makes it's come back next year in LMGT2. Will be nice to see 3 makes instead of the 2.

Oh, and I follow it every year if time permits, and DVR if not.

I had no idea that Audi won (again). Very happy (and relieved)! Its drivers are certainly a model of consistency.
