Iraq can't reach deal with US.

For all those not watching, the US and Iraq have only a few months left to reach a deal on security before the UN considers Iraq occupied by another country (yeah yeah, stop laughing).

Doesn't this give US leaders the perfect opportunity to gracefully withdrawal and state "you told us to leave"?

This is probably a God send to the Dems as this would occur right as a new administration comes in, so in theory they could say "see, we got the US out of Iraq".

You would think, with the constant threat of being overtaken by terrorists, that they would be somewhat motivated to work with us here.

As Iraq is its own sovereign country, it should really be up to them when the US forces should leave, unless of course the US wants to go earlier.

Quick note, wasn't Iraq a sovereign nation prior to 2003? Pretty sure they had their own flag, currency..spot on the map.
