Back From Punta Cancun, whoa man, the s#*t has hit the fan!

Flew around Katrina last Saturday on the way down to Cancun, knew it was gonna be bad from the sight of that immense storm from the air. All the papers in Mexico made it their top story. Everyone at the resort was glued to CNN in between frozen drinks and dips in the sea. I just got my VAIO 12" laptop but could not find a wireless network at the resort to check out more news.

If they want to rebuild New Orleans, they oughta employ the Maya to do it. Emily hit Cancun a month ago, not a sign that it was there now at all. Everything back to normal. Granted, that was a much weaker and smaller hurricane, but damn these guys in Mexico work their asses off and they're amazing.

Because the future Mrs. was along, I didn't get to snap any photos of the tetones grandes or las culas, but if you could see what I saw, ! No toplessness at Dreams Resort and Spa on Punta Cancun was allowed, too many Americans and kids there to have that going on, but we did peek into a place called Blue Bay, which was adults only and had a clothing optional section. Lots of nekkid European women there, mostly German and stunning. Quite a few Swedes and Danish too, and damn I wanna have kids so I can hire one of them as my au pair, cause that's what they all do for a living.

Anyhow, a few pics for the visuals, and yes, I would recommend this all-inclusive joint to anyone, and it's the best location on Cancun, right where the Caribbean and the Gulf meet and also a short walk from Senor Frogs, Corona Bar, Hard Rock, The City, etc.

We also went to Chichen Itza, as Hayaku did, and that was impressive.

Now, I gotta go read a ton of posts to catch up. I'll post some more pics soon.

Gracias, Juan.

Here's some of the locals (they especially love papayas) and some of the ruins at Chichen Itza. Also, a bunch of sea turtle eggs hatched while I was there, so I got to hold a sea turtle hatchling for the first time.

Last few pics, the future Mrs. and I at dinner, first time at an all-inclusive, must say we were impressed and we're food snobs(red eye reduction on Photoshop, our eyes are not really black), the future Mrs. playing the life sized chess set (she's 6' tall, for scale) and the roof of terminal D in Douglas airport, thought it might make an interesting wallpaper.

Back to catching up on the posts.
