Well, he's right, but I think he would've been taken a lot more seriously if he made his statements prior to Chien-Ming Wang getting hurt.

I think he's full of crap. Pulling the pitcher for a DH requires a lot less skill in managing the game. And as a DH, you call youself a baseball player? Not. How about call yourself just a batter.
