Imo, that blog and "testimonial" is similar to most "Dare to be Great" pitches I've read in my career.

If one has skills that would lend themselves to "helping" down in LA or MS, and one has the time, it might make sense to offer such help. Joe American, the citizen, is not needed there at this point, from my understanding.

My "help" included sending a few hundred bucks off to the RedCross, (though that org is staffed at the top by way overpaid stuffed suits,imo).
My Qtr's worth on the 'qwater's predicament" at this stage of the non-recovery.

Well, good for you, man. And Kudos to you. I, however, checked out the minute he categorized every priest in the Catholic as a pedophile and pretty much regarded the red cross as useless.

Thanks. I won't be going because of anything he said. On the contrary
I will be invited by another organization which has delt with these kinds
of problems in the past. They also accept contributions to help in the aid
of others when problems like this occur. Unlike other organizations the
contributions are used directly as specified with none being used for
administrative cost.

I believe the writers comments were directing the
reader to other alternatives as a means for contributions because his experience has been that the organizations he mentioned were not
reliable in terms of distribution of funds received. This was covered
in more detail in his first news letter where he descirbes his previous fund

He ends his second news letter ( the one at the beginning of this thread) by allowing someone else who had written him to offer a suggestion as to an organization that has proven reliable in the past regarding the proper distrubition of funds. I thought it important to point out the information
for reference.

They are getting more than their fair share of volunteers, man. The local Red Cross chapter here sent a convoy of buses to pick up displaced citizens to shelter up to 400 of them at the DC Armory. They drove all the way to Baton Rouge, they were told they had enough shelters for the people at all evacuation sites, the buses are heading back to DC now, empty.

Once they drain the flooded areas and clear the debris, I'm sure your electrical knowledge would be welcomed by any number of organizations, QS.

Thanks for your information. but i'm in a bit of a different loop
which will need my services. After all there's more than New Orleans affected by the storm. I'm not going on my own. I have been asked to come.
