What is going on, Obama is paying off Clinton..

or..something...

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/06/...ama/index.html

I do have other quick questions about the process:

1) How do the constituents feel in a Senator's state where that Senator has dropped the job their paid to do, to look for another one? If you went to work and told your boss "Hey for the next 6-18 months I'm going to cruise the job sites" you'd be fired.

2) Does anyone think it is a little odd that Obama is preaching so hard to pay off Clinton's debt that she created for herself?

As a New Yorker, I have not been happy with Hillary Clinton as our senator. I don't think she has done much and anything she does do only seems to happen when she needs to get herself elected. I find it funny that when she was running for reelection in 2006, she declined ever running for President and said her only commitment would be New York. Sure. I wonder how many days she actually spent in New York or in Washington during the election.

Let's look at it in context:

Obama asked them to do what they could to help Clinton, according to two Democrats familiar with the call. A campaign spokesman confirmed that Obama had asked them to help the former first lady.

‘‘Some of our donors have asked and Barack said if they have the ability to raise or give money to help on debt, we encourage them to do so,’’ spokesman Robert Gibbs said.

You ain't kidding... when she ran for re-election as a NY Senator, didn't she say "i'm committed to NY'ers and fulfilling my term"? well the 2nd part is right, she'll finish her term, but only because she lost her Presidential bid.

She's the definition of carpet bagger, plain and simple, and NO ONE has been able to tell me anything of any significance that she has done for the state of NY.
