If anything, the moratorium will make the existing businesses more valuable in sale, this only stops new ones from opening.

Why the hell should the gov't regulate this kind of stuff. If you choose to eat fatty foods, that's your business, not the government's. If I want my Bojangles' fried chicken, so be it.

The same could apply to overweight individuals!! PS. I would really like to see a picture of the city counsel or whatever it is called. I bet that at least 50% of them are overweight! |

In the town where I grew up, there was a law, NO FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS. As a result, the small business owner had the opportunity to actually afford some street level, retail/food space.
The result was, higher quality, freshly made, deli's, bodega's, even ethnic restaurants. I guess if I owned the strip mall and was sitting on the property, I would be annoyed if I couldn't rent at full price to a big corporation. But at the end of the day, we had much better food in our town and the money being spent in the town stayed in the town, or went to struggling restaurant families, rather than the big corporations. While I am in support of big business and a One World Economy, there is also a lot to be said for the mom and pop food source.
